The coalition engaged in the STEM Learning Opportunities Providing Equity i3 project is led by the California Education Round Table — a voluntary association of the chief executive officers of all the educational sectors in the state. Its programmatic and administrative arm – the Intersegmental Coordinating Committee (ICC) — oversees the Alliance for Regional Collaboration to Heighten Educational Success (ARCHES). This project builds on the success of ARCHES over the past five years in developing and sustaining regional education collaboratives. ARCHES is joined by Connect Ed: The California Center for College and Career and WestEd in administering the grant. Each partner brings their unique expertise to the process: ARCHES focuses on building effective community and cross-segmental partnerships focused on student learning and closing achievement gaps; ConnectEd developed and oversees implementation of the curriculum and professional development; and WestEd created and oversees a sophisticated evaluation designed to ensure that this project, if successful, can be replicated throughout the state and nation.
